
European Under 18 Team Championship was held between July 7-14 in Subotica, Serbia. Boys won 3.5-0.5 against Serbia-2 and took the second place with the better tie-break with Croatia. Hungaria became the European U18 Champion with 11 points followed by Turkey and Croatia with 10 points.
Girls lost against Montenegro with 1.5-0.5 and completed the event with 8 points in the fourth place.

European Team Championship Under 18 is being held in Subotica, Serbia between July 7-14, 2007. In boys category there are Mustafa Yılmaz, Oğulcan Kanmazalp, Mert Yılmazyerli, Burak Fırat ve Ataman Aydoğdu while girls team is consisting of Gözde Deniz Altunkeser, Özlem Gencer and Melodi Dinçel.
In the first round boys team lost against the hosts and one of the hot favourites Serbia with close match ending with a 2.5-1.5 score. In the second round, boys team made a draw against Scotland while girls team defeated Patria 1.5-0.5.
In the third round, boys won narrowly with 2.5-1.5 against Serbia-3 while girls team won their encounter against Serbia-2 with 2-0 to face top seed of the event Romania in the fourth. Boys are going to face Montenegro.
In the fourth round, boys defeated Montenegro 4-0 while girls lost against first seed Romania with 2-0.
In the fifth round, Turkey won against the strong Bulgarian team with a narrow 2.5-1.5 win while girls won with a clean sheet 2-0 against Scotland.
In the sixth round after a thrilling rook endgame Yılmaz was not able to save the draw and secure the wing for the team against IM Ivan Saric and boys made a draw against leading team Croatia. Before the final round, Croatia and Hungaria are sharing the first place with 9 points followed by Turkey, Bulgaria and Serbia-2. Turkey is going to face Serbia-2 in the final round who won against Serbia-1 in the penultimate round. Girls won against the leading team, Serbia-1 with 1.5-0.5 and they also joined the fight for the medal. In the final round they are going to play against Montenegro. Romania is leading with 10 points while Montenegro and Serbia-2 have 9 points followed by Turkey with 8.
