In the final round, GM Atalık had a draw against IM Gerzhoy and completed the event with 6.5 points despite leading the event for several rounds. IM Atalık had a draw against FM Davies and completed the event 6 points. WFM Öztürk won her second consecutive game in the event against FM Dougherty and completed the event with 6 points. GM Bu from China won the event with 8/10 followed by GM Short, GM Miton, GM Sandipan, IM Krnan and GM Sambuev with 7.5/10 , sharing 2-6.places.

GM Suat Atalık, IM (WGM) Ekaterina Atalık and WFM Kübra Öztürk are playing in the 2007 edition of Canadian Open. The field includes strong grandmasters including Nigel Short (2683), Xiangzhi Bu (2685), Vadim Milov (2678), Sergei Tiviakov (2678), Kamil Miton (2648), Chanda Sandipan (2563), Alex Yermolinsky (2517). Atalıks' names are already on the poster of the event. One of the young and talented member of the Women's National Team WFM Öztürk is also accompanying the strong Atalık family who recently played in Turkish Clubs Championship in Konya.

GM Short is leading with perfect score after round 3 while GM Atalık and WFM Öztürk are at 2.5 points. Former European Women's Champion IM Atalık has 2 points.

In the fourth round, GM Atalık made a draw against Yermolinsky his former close working partner and reached 3 points, while IM Atalık won her game against Cheng to join him at the same points. While WFM Öztürk lost against IM Roussel-Roozmon and she has 2.5 points.

In the fifth round, GM Atalık won against Michielsen to join eleven other grandmasters also having 4 points and sharing the first place. IM Atalık made draw against GM Shomoev to each 3.5 points while WFM Öztürk won against Abou-Nassif and joined her experienced compatriot at 3.5 points.

In the sixth round, GM Atalık won against GM Likavsky to share first place with GM Howell with 5 points while IM Atalık lost a theoretically drawn rook endgame with blunder at the last move against GM Milov while WFM Öztürk lost against Kovalyov. IM Atalık and WFM Öztürk has 3.5 points after round 6.

After the seventh round GM Atalık is leading with 6/7 after his win against GM Howell who also had the same points before the game while 2-5. places are shared by GMs Bu, Milov, Miton, Sandipan, Hoang Thong Tu with 5.5 points. IM Atalık won against Fritzsche to reach 4.5 point while WFM Öztürk lost against Hua.

GM Atalık lost against GM Bu in the eighth round. Now he is sharing 3-8.places while IM Atalık won her game to reach 5.5 points. WFM Öztürk had a draw and reached 4 points.

GM Atalık lost once again to GM Milov this time while IM Atalık lost against GM Bluvshtein. WFM Öztürk won against Danilov.
