Gelfand, drawing against Kramnik finished his opponent's slight hopes of defending the title. Anand, now having 8.5 points is facing Leko in the final round and a draw would be enough for Madras Tiger to become the new world champion. While the only chance for veteran of the event, Gelfand is beating Morozevich with black pieces and pray for Anand to lose.
