Atatürk Chess Festival won By IM Sulashvili

GENERAL BLITZ UNDER 16
Atatürk Chess Festival was held in Seyhan, Adana under the auspices of Seyhan Municipality between 1-11 November.
Atatürk Chess Festival was won by IM Malkhaz Sulashvili from Georgia with 8 points followed by second place shared by Davit Zarkua(Georgia) and former Turkish champion IM Turhan Yılmaz.
Under 16 Category was won by Umut Abit with 6,5 points followed by Ahmet Ölçüm with 6 points and the third place was taken by Mustafa İnkaya.
The Blitz event was won by Davit Zarkua(Georgia) with 9 points followed by second place shared by GM Konstantin Shanava(Georgia) and Nidjat Agayev(Azerbaijan).
The venue of the event is Kahraman Olgaç Chess Centre (Honorary President of TCF Kahraman Olgaç was born in Adana).

There are direct flights from many European cities. Furthermore, there are flights from everywhere in the world to Istanbul and there are many flights available between Adana and Istanbul. It is also possible to travel on road to Adana. The distance between Adana and Istanbul is 900 km and the distance between Ankara and Adana is 450 km.
WHERE IS ADANA?

Hospitality in Adana. Mayor Öztürk, has reemphasized that the International Atatürk Festival will be organized every year at the same time as a chess classic in Seyhan! The partners of organizers are Seyhan Municipality, Turkish Chess Foundation and the Turkish Chess Federation.
Adana Province is a province with a surface area of 14.030 km2, located in the Mediterranean region of southern Turkey. The provinces adjacent to it are Mersin to the west, Hatay to the southeast, Osmaniye to the east, Kahramanmaraş to the northeast, Kayseri to the north, and Niğde to the northwest. The name of the city is believed to have come from a legend that Adanus and Sarus, two sons of Uranus, came to a place near the Seyhan River where they built Adana.

International Ataturk Festival is going to be held under the auspices of Seyhan Municipality for the third time, during Ataturk Week from 1 to 11 November. The total prize fund is 20.000 USD and the festival will consist of three categories: Open, Under 16 and Blitz tournament.
