In Men's section Russia got another narrow victory this time against Czech Republic led by David Navara who was the only player to lose a game against Peter Svidler. Today, Svidler is not playing against Slovenia while Grischuk is playing. It does not matter who is playing actually since whole the field is over 2700. Azerbaidjan also won with a narrow 2.5-1.5 against Denmark. The only win of Azerbaidjani team came from "Shak" Mamedyarov against Peter Heine Nielsen, one of the most prominent opening experts in modern chess.

IM Haznedaroğlu and IM Esen are filling their scoresheets before the game.

In women's section, Russia won against Bulgaria with two big guns on the first board playing against each other: two GMs Kosteniuk and Stefanova while Russian star won the individual encounter. Poland also won against Netherlands with a comfortable 3-1. Hungary is reviving back the good old "Polgaria" days when three Polgar sisters were playing together and winning all the time.
