In men's section Turkey lost to Serbia 3-1 and Russia keeps the two point lead after winning against Israel. Slovenia, the sensation of the Men's section so far won 2.5-1.5 against Azerbaijan.

In women's section, Turkey lost to Israel 2.5-1.5 and Russia won against Slovenia with 3.5-0.5 to catch Poland that had a draw against Georgia

 Russia Eager To Win The Title in Both Categories

Russia won another important match against Israel, the silver medalist of the last European Team Championship who mas missing Boris Gelfand. Svidler won another game against Sutovsky. Jakovenko gained another victory against Rodshtein to secure a 3-1 score. Slovenia is still fighting successfully on top board. They gained a crucial victory against Azerbaijan thanks to Borisek's win against Guseinov. On the third board, Ukraine won 2.5-1.5 against Czech Republic with the only victory of the match coming by 2006 Champion of Ukraine Areschenko. On the forth board, Armenia won against Hungary with the victory of Akopian.

Turkey lost 3-1 against Serbia with Atalık and Gurevich drawing their games against Ivanisevic and Miladinovic respectively while Turkey is going to play with Montenegro in the seventh round.

 

In women's section Georgia and Poland were not able to open the deadlock and the match ended as a 2-2 draw while Russia won comfortably against Slovenia with a 3.5-0.5 score to catch the Polish side. Ukraine won 3-1 against Hungary and came closer to the top board. Israel won 2.5-1.5 against Turkey.
