Last Round Win Enables Carlsen to Join Gashimov and Yue Wang in Grand Prix

The first leg of the Grand Prix series ended with a big excitement. Grischuk, Gashimov and Yue Wang were in the fight for the first place closing to the end. However, in the penultimate round Gashimov grounded Grischuk to take the shared lead with Chinese grandmaster Wang Yue. In the final round the two players were caught by the Norwegian youngster, Magnus Carlsen who won against Adams and Bacrot in the final rounds. Not only the three players shared the first place with 8 points but also shared the prize money and the Grand Prix points.
